Situation

VINCI were looking to create a prototype project reporting dashboard for their clients in Office 365, based on a design brief. From this brief, Business Cloud Integration were asked to create a functioning proof of concept.

The requirement was to create a portal where their customers could easily see a clear overview of the status of their accounts, and the associated reporting for maintenance, helpdesk, and safety and compliance. The portal needed to be able to pull together and summarise data from multiple sources, and display that data with dynamic RAG statuses, in one single, user friendly, management information interface.

The portal also needed to be consistent across all clients, but customisable to each client’s individual reporting requirements.

Solution

We created a dynamic reporting interface using SharePoint Online as a key management information tool, and integrating it with Power BI. Through Power BI we were able to present data and published reports for consumption, even without access to the original source data.

The dashboard shows the dynamically updated RAG status of each reported data set, in a colour coded display that offers a clear overview of the client’s account, and makes it easy to identify key KPI’s, and the actions required to manage them, in an easily consumable format.
