Whilst 2020 has been a difficult year in a whole manner of ways, we wanted to focus on the positive things that have happened throughout the year, and yes, there have been some!

As it is Christmas, this is themed to the 12 days of Christmas…

12 – Microsoft Teams reached 115 million daily active users (DAU). Taken from Microsoft, who define daily active users (DAU) as the count of unique users performing an intentional action in a 24-hour period in any of the Teams clients—desktop, mobile, or web. Intentional actions include sending or replying to a chat, joining a meeting, or opening a file in Teams.

11 – Microsoft commits to achieve zero waste goals by 2030 through their direct operations, products, and packaging. This is to help combat the more than 11 billion tons of waste that’s  produced every year.

10 – The introduction of the Microsoft Editor in Word, designed to help with grammar, spelling and clarity pains. Find out more – Microsoft Editor blog.

9 – 49 updates launched to SharePoint – Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365

8 – Eight updates launched to Microsoft Lists.

7 – Microsoft recognised as the leader in the November 2020 Gartner Content Services Platforms Magic Quadrant Report, for the fourth year in a row. Now with over 200 million users who rely on SharePoint.

6 – 176 updates launched to Microsoft Teams.

5 – Five Power Platform renames! These include Common Data Service -> Project Oakdale – >DataFlex -> Project Oakdale – > Dataverse.

4 – Four new Power Automate categories

3 – Microsoft Teams large gallery view, you can now see 49 participants in one view.

2 – Azure Active Directory had 345 million monthly active users in 200,000 organisations as of the end of June 2020, many of these being Office 365 tenants.

1 – SpaceX launch. A massive achievement not just for technology but for the World! Here’s to the first crewed mission – look out Mars, here we come!
